Ascending to Aniningpan Ridge is our next target after the major climb in Mt. Maagnaw. Considering Aniningpan Ridge is a sidetrip, we expect that it was a peace of cake hike to summit.

Registration is an SOP rule before ascending to summit. P150.00 registration fee for each participant and they required the group to get a guide. We started to ascend around 4PM. The first part is okay until we reached the inclined portion where you need to do “4 wheel drive”. It’s a mountaineering term that defines as using both arms and legs to climb up high. It’s a very sloping, an inclined ramp that I am already leaning, literally crawling forward, lol. And the hardest part of it is that, no ropes, tall grasses, trees or anything that you can grab to help you move forward and the ground has lots of pebbles and sand that anytime if someone will slipped from the top, it will be a domino effect like scenario. I realized that we had a life threatening situation. Glad that it didn’t rain, because it will triple the difficulty reaching the summit.

I was teary eyed when I reached the summit. That was around 7PM. My group never left me and they helped me reached the peak. Thank you guys! Hats off also to Kuya Nelson of Kaplag Adventours.

Then later we discovered that there’s another trail to summit and that trail is much easier. I guess the guide took us on that difficult trail knowing we went to Mt. Maagnaw prior to Aniningpan Ridge and thinking we are pro mountaineers – my group was pro, that’s for sure, but me, not, lol.
Anyways, the camp area is narrow, so you might consider tent sharing if you are in a large group. There’s an open cottage where you can cook food. It was overlooking, you can see city lights at night and ridges and a beautiful sunrise in the morning. We descend around 9AM. It’s an open trail, not really good to stay until noon because it will be very hot.

HOW TO GET THERE
Aniningpan Ridge is located in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. From Bukidnon city proper, go to Kibarok and passing by Natid-asan in Brgy. 9. I suggest to get a private vehicle, van if you are in a large group.
For commuters, habalhabal from Belsar Enterprises (in front of Shell gas station) to the sitio costs P30.00 per head.
REGISTRATION FEES
Registration fee is P150.00 per head. Local guide is required. So if you have already a tour guide (private tours), they will still require you to get a local guide.
