We woke up early on the 2nd day of our tour to visit White Island in Mambajao, Camiguin Island. Our accommodation was perfect as we can see the whole White Island, just in front of us. White Island is locally known as Medano Islet or Medan Island, lies just 1.4 km, about 10 minutes, off the coast of Mambajao, the capital and the largest municipality of Camiguin. White Island is the province’s most popular tourist attraction.
So we prep things up and went to port going to White Island. We arrived around 6:00 AM and a lot of people were already there waiting for boats. We waited for the assigned boats for our group. In no time, we reached the White Island.

The sun was already up but we did capture a nice view of sunrise. A dramatic jump shot with sun effects. I wanted to have a photo like that, me doing a jump shot, unfortunately, no one knows how to capture an angle like that. Poor me. Their photos were all nice. Mine were just not so instagramable, lol.

White Island is purely a sandbar with a fine sand and crystal clear water. Perfect for an early swim as they said it was therapeutic. Around 7:00 AM, the sun was so hot, we rented a large umbrella. I like the idea of going to White Island early in the morning because I am sure I’ll be having a grilled skin if we went there lunch time or afternoon.
