Last March this year, I and my travel buddies availed an airfare promo at Cebu Pacific and our target destination was in Bohol, Philippines. We wanted to explore more other than the city tour that Bohol can offer. So we added Danao Adventure Park in our itinerary. In early 2000, Danao was considered as the poorest municipality in the province but recently it has grown to be Bohol’s center of attraction for eco-adventure activities. In cooperation with the local government of Danao and non-government organizations, Danao offers a range of exciting extreme activities and the place is known as E.A.T or Eco, Educational, Extreme Adventure Tour.
I myself loved adventures like mountain climbing, rappelling, but this extreme adventure in Danao Adventure Park was truly my first time and to be honest I felt nervous at the same time excited! Even the zipline, it’s my first time to try it!

How to Get There
It is a long trip by land going to Danao Adventure Park in Bohol, Philippines. Danao is a little town in Bohol which takes 2 hours of travel from Tagbilaran City.
Flight via Cebu Pacific, or Philippine Airline
From Manila, Cebu, Davao, take a flight via Cebu Pacific, PAL or any airlines you choose that is available. Then book a car going to Danao, Bohol
Ferry Options
From Cebu and Davao, there are ferry schedules available such as OceanJet or 12Go Asia Ferry. Travel time would take 3-4 hours. I have tried OceanJet from Cebu to Bohol and I can recommend 12Go Asia as well. I had tried their service from Davao to Bohol. Then book a car going to Danao, Bohol. Travel time from Bohol Tagbilaran to Danao is 2 hours.
Van Transfer
The majority of the Bohol tour is in the countryside only. In our case, we huggle the tour guide and we just add Php 2800 for 3 pax going to Danao Adventure Park. The location is so far away plus going back again to Tagbilaran, so I think the 2800 additional fee is fine.

Things to Do in Danao Adventure Park, Bohol
Suislide
One best adventure that you should include on your list when visiting Danao in Bohol is the Suislide. Don’t get intimidated with the term “Suislide”, it’s witty but scary to some. But I assure you that it’s not! This is one of the Bohol activities I anticipated so much and a must try if you are looking for extreme adventure.
It is basically a zip line activity consisting of a pulley attached to a cable mounted on an incline cliff. You can enjoy Danao’s Suislide by riding on two lines, going forth and back unlike other zip lines, you are only allowed to ride with one line because the exit is on the other side. The safety harnesses are durable and for sure the local government checked and tested this before giving them permit to operate.
Some say Suislide is such a scary term as it seems to be a suicidal slide for those who are petrified with heights and I’ll say yes to that somehow because I felt nervous too at the moment I tried it. But the true meaning of Suislide is that coined from the word “suis” means the sound of a cable ride once you slide on it and the word”slide” coined for simply slide.
Danao’s Suislide traverses around a half kilometer from one mountain to another, taking you to less than a minute with an exhilarating and breathtaking ride. You can traverse by one or two. It can carry at least 5 tons.

You can experience Suislide for only Php 350.00 and that’s a back and forth ride.
Photos are 100-150 per hardcopy print plus you can get the soft copy. So make sure to locate the camera man and smile during the ride!
The Plunge
And this is where the adrenaline rush adventure begins! So we paid the fee and pointed fingers on who’s going to try it first. Now it’s my turn, so the operating staff put a harness on me and do a little briefing of do’s and dont’s during the drop off. Harness is 100% secure and safe. So don’t worry.
They were supposed to count 1, 2, 3, but they dropped me off at the count of 2, I was like.. shouting to the top of my lungs! The terrifying experience is the free fall. It seems like the falling in a dream becomes reality. Imagine that! I can’t recall exactly how many minutes of free fall it is but all I know is that it took some quiet time before it stopped and switched to swaying mode. Take note of this, the free fall Plunge was about 70 meters! Scary, right? But at the end of free fall, you will feel relaxed as it will only swing back and forth until they will pull you up slowly. I have a close view at the bottom and it looked very great. All in all, the Plunge is a superb experience! A thumbs up! Scary but exciting, overwhelming but sooo worth it! You must give it a try!
You can experience The Plunge for only Php 700.00 with a certificate. I guess I can frame this and hang on my wall because I survived the fall! You are not paying the price but you are paying for the experience. So I suggest you must try it! There’s also a photographer. They are selling each photo for Php 50.00.
