DIY Travel Guide: Aguinid Falls in Samboan, Cebu

Chasing waterfalls? It is indeed fun to chase waterfalls in South Cebu. After visiting Tumalog Falls, we then went to Aguinid Falls. Unlike Tumalog Falls, Aguinid Falls comprised of water cascades and 5 waterfalls. They named it as Level 0 to level 5. Levels above that are more difficult and it is closed for tourist and locals to explore. Aguinid Falls is located in Barangay Tangbo, Samboan, Cebu A little far away from Oslob.

From Tumalog Falls, we arrived in Aguinid Falls at 1:00 PM. I paid 25 pesos for the entrance fee and they required to get a guide. Guide fee is up to you. I paid my guide 150 pesos. They assigned me a nice and chatty guide and can take photos nicely. Please note that this guide is different from the guide I booked for the entire South Cebu tour. They require you to get a guide if you want to explore Aguinid falls.

Before trekking, they will conduct a short discussion about Aguinid Falls. Level 0 is the first one, with cascading waterfalls and different waterfalls from level 1 up to level 5. The photos below are in level 0.

Level 0 – Cascade waterfalls

We continue to trek going up and reached level 1. A nice waterfall with a thick curtain. The guide said there are some days that the flow and rapids were not that strong. So I was lucky that time.

Do you love rappeling? If you do then level 2 will be exciting for you. I love this part. The rocks were not slippery so it was easy going up and down.

Next is level 3. A nice looking waterfall with lots of mini caves. I forgot to get the name and contact number of the guide. He is good at taking photos.

And then the level 4. The water is a little deep in here so you can jump on the water with folded knees so you won’t hit the bottom.

And last the level 5. No diving or jumping is allowed because water is shallow. My overall experience in Aguinid Falls is amazing. It took us more than 1 hour to complete the levels including swimming time. When we get back to the main entrance, it was already past 2:00 PM and I remember I hadn’t eaten lunch yet. There were restaurants and food stall available at the main entrance.
