Summer Getaway in Britania Group of Islands, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur

The Britania Group of Island is a famous travel destination in Surigao del Sur. It’s unique islet formation scattered across the sea makes it unique and appealing. This is my second visit to Britania Group of Island and its beauty still remains. The island and islets are very beautiful. The rounded shapes are still perfect. They are wonders of nature and looked so amazing no matter how many times I’ll get back here.

We do island hopping to enjoy the more and experience a closer look to some of the islets. And I would also recommend you to do the same so you can check all islets.

The weather was so hot and fine as you can see in the photos, the sandbar connecting to few islets were visible. We had fun just walking on those sandbars to reach the other islet. They are connected by a small piece of land that were hidden during the high tide. It was low tide when we got there. During high tide, you can only see the tip of the islet. You can barely see the rock formation underneath the trees.

There are also other water activity offered like the banana boat. We also tried banana boat ride. A superb water ride experience. A must try! Though I lost my favorite shades here. It went down when banana boat was flipped, which the operator purposely flipped the boat in the end.

How to Explore the Britania Group of Islands

You can hire a boat to do island hopping. There are lots of boat rental offers in the area, sometimes the boat operator will come to you and offer you directly. I recommend to do island hopping as it’s nice to see the islets on a closer view, stop over for a while and take a swim. We rented a boat for Php1,000 for the whole group, we are 15 persons in the group.

How to Get There

Britania Group of Islands is located in San Agustin, Surigao del Sur. We hired a van to tour us around in Surigao del Sur. You can do the same for a hassle travel specially if you have kids along with you.
